Producer Jam is a free monthly online session where students ages 12–18 work together to develop an original piece of music.
Free • Online • Second Friday of Every Month • 4:30 PM MST
Next Session: Friday, September 11, 2026
Each Producer Jam begins with one shared musical idea. Students will help choose the creative direction before dividing into small production teams.
Depending on the monthly challenge, teams may work on:
Drums and percussion
Bass, chords, and supporting sounds
Melodies or vocal ideas
Song structure and transitions
Different interpretations of the same starting idea
Everyone will then return to the main room to share their work, compare ideas, and help assemble the final production.
Each session is collaborative, beginner-friendly, and different from the month before.
Students should join with:
A computer or tablet capable of running Zoom
A stable internet connection
Headphones, if available
A quiet place where they can participate
Access to a DAW such as Ableton Live, GarageBand, Logic Pro, FL Studio, BandLab, or another music-making program is helpful but not required.
Students without production software can still contribute through sound selection, songwriting, creative direction, arrangement ideas, rhythm, melody, and other group roles.
No previous music production experience is required.

Producer Jam is free, but registration is required.
To keep the session interactive and give every student an opportunity to participate, each Producer Jam is limited to eight students. Once the session is full, additional registrations will be placed on the waitlist for the next available session.
